Effective 29 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-29
This End User License Agreement (the "Agreement") is between you and Shobin Mathews ("we", "us"), the owner of FrameDecks. It covers the FrameDecks desktop program, its installer, its updates, the FrameRelay virtual camera and the documentation that comes with them (together, the "Software"). By installing or using the Software you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not install or use the Software.
1. Proprietary software
The Software is proprietary. It is licensed to you, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights, title and interest in the Software, including copyright, trade secrets, trademarks (including the name FrameDecks, the FrameDecks emblem and FrameRelay) and all other intellectual property. Nothing in this Agreement gives you any right that is not expressly stated here.
2. Your licence
Subject to this Agreement, we give you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:
- install and use the Software on computers you own or control, for any lawful purpose, personal or for an organisation, including churches, schools, charities and businesses;
- make copies of the installer only as needed for backup or to install it on those computers.
The Software is free of charge. We may offer paid features or services in the future under separate terms; nothing already free becomes paid without notice.
3. What you may not do
Except as this Agreement or applicable law expressly allows, you may not:
- copy, modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the Software;
- decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise try to obtain its source code;
- sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, publish or distribute the Software, or offer it for download from anywhere other than framedecks.com;
- remove or change any copyright, trademark or proprietary notice;
- bypass or interfere with its update, security or licence features;
- use the Software to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights, including copyright in songs, texts or images you present.
4. Third-party components
The Software includes components made by others under their own licences, listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md in the
program folder and at framedecks.com/legal. Those licences govern those components. Where a component's licence gives
you rights this Agreement would otherwise restrict (for example, the right to replace or modify the LGPL-licensed
libraries pystray and the FFmpeg libraries inside OpenCV, and to reverse engineer the Software as far as needed to
debug such changes), those rights are not limited by this Agreement.
5. Updates
The Software checks framedecks.com's update service about once a day and may download and install updates when you choose Update now, or automatically if you turn that on. Updates are covered by this Agreement unless they come with their own terms. The check sends your current version and Windows version, and nothing about your meetings or people.
6. Your content and your data
Everything you create with the Software stays yours. The Software keeps it on your computer. If you choose to link a computer to a FrameDecks workspace, the parts described in the Privacy Policy are stored online under the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
7. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS. We do not promise that the Software will be free of errors or work without interruption during a live event. Rehearse before you rely on it.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR THIS AGREEMENT. Because the Software is free, our total liability is limited to USD 50. Some places do not allow these limits; there, they apply only as far as the law allows.
9. Ending this Agreement
You may end this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software. It ends automatically if you break it. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete your copies. Sections 1, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 10 continue after it ends.
10. General
- Governing law: [governing law to be confirmed]. Until it is confirmed, this Agreement is a draft and the mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live apply.
- Export: you will not use or export the Software where that is against the law.
- Changes: we may update this Agreement; the new version applies to updates installed after it is published at framedecks.com/eula.
- Whole agreement: this Agreement, with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy where they apply, is the whole agreement about the Software. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
