Legal and licences

Everything that governs FrameDecks, in one place.

FrameDecks © 2026 Shobin Mathews. All rights reserved. FrameDecks is proprietary software: it is licensed, free of charge, under the End User License Agreement, not sold. FrameDecks, FrameRelay and the FrameDecks emblem are trademarks of Shobin Mathews. You may not copy, modify, redistribute or reverse engineer the program except as the EULA or the law allows.

Versions of FrameDecks up to 6.14 were published under the Apache License 2.0, and copies of those versions remain under that licence. Version 7.0 and later are proprietary.

Third-party notices

FrameDecks is proprietary software (LICENSE, EULA). It uses the software and assets below, each under its own licence, which continues to apply to that component. Licences that ask for their text to travel with copies are honoured as follows:

  • the files under app/vendor/ and app/fonts/ keep their own licence files;
  • the Windows installer carries this file, LICENSE and NOTICE in the program folder;
  • each project's full licence is at the link given;
  • the LGPL-licensed libraries (pystray; the FFmpeg libraries inside OpenCV) are separate files in the program folder that can be replaced, and the EULA does not restrict the rights their licences give.

Who this is for: anyone redistributing FrameDecks, and maintainers adding a dependency. Add a row here, in the same change, for anything new that ships.

Services, not shipped

Supabase, Vercel, the ESV API (api.esv.org; each church uses its own key under Crossway's terms) and, when M-D3 is built, Ollama and the models it runs: these are reached over the network and not redistributed by FrameDecks. A model's own licence applies to whoever downloads it.
